milk of choice (regular, almond, oat, or soy)

vanilla paste or extract (optional)
Any fresh or dried fruit, nuts, nut butter, dark chocolate, honey, maple syrup, or jam.
Instructions
Add the oats, milk, and vanilla to a small pot.
Place over medium-low heat and bring to a gentle simmer.
Once it starts bubbling, cook for about 2 minutes, stirring often.
When the oatmeal thickens and turns creamy, remove from the heat.
Serve warm with your favorite toppings or chill and enjoy cold.
