Creamy green tahini made with herbs, lemon, and garlic.
A quick, blender-friendly dip, dressing, or sauce you’ll want on everything.

Green tahini is one of those things that’s almost too simple to make—but the flavor payoff is huge. It’s just raw tahini blended with fresh herbs, lemon juice, garlic (if you want), and cold water. What you get is a smooth, bright green sauce that you can dip into, drizzle over salads, spread into sandwiches, or spoon over bowls. And the best part? You make the whole thing in a blender.

Green Tahini Ingredients
You only need a few things to make this creamy green tahini:
- Raw tahini – the base of the sauce
- Cold water – helps blend and creates that creamy texture
- Fresh herbs – coriander, parsley, or a mix of both
- Lemon juice – for brightness and tang
- Garlic (optional) – adds depth and a little kick
- Salt – to bring it all together

How to Make Green Tahini Sauce
- Add the herbs and cold water to a blender. Blend until completely smooth.
- Add tahini, lemon juice, garlic (if using), and salt.
- Blend again until creamy and well combined.
- Adjust the consistency to your liking:
- Add more water for a thinner drizzle
- Add more tahini for a thicker dip
- Taste and adjust with more salt or lemon if needed.
How to Use Green Tahini Dressing
This green tahini works as a dip, dressing, or sauce—just adjust the texture depending on how you want to use it.
- As a dip for crackers, pita, or raw vegetables
- Drizzled over grain bowls, salads, or roasted veggies
- Spread inside sandwiches or wraps
- Served with grilled chicken, fish, or falafel
- Spooned over baked sweet potatoes or cauliflower
Green Tahini Taste & Variations
Green tahini is nutty, lemony, and fresh from all the herbs. It’s bold but balanced—and you can easily adjust it to your taste.
- Want a spicy green tahini sauce? Blend in a green chili or a spoonful of zhoug.
- Prefer a different flavor? Swap parsley with coriander, mint, basil, or chives.
- Want to add more depth? Try a pinch of ground cumin or toasted spices.
- Craving more tang? A few slices of pickled jalapeños do the trick.
Storage Tips
Store green tahini in a sealed jar or container in the fridge. It keeps well for about 4 to 5 days.
The sauce may thicken as it sits—just stir in a bit of cold water to loosen it before serving.
